“We can feed the stomach with concentrates. We can supply microfilm for reading, recreation, even movies of a sort. We can pump oxygen in and waste material out. But there’s one thing we can’t simulate, that’s a very basic need: man’s hunger for companionship. The barrier of loneliness — that’s one thing we haven’t licked yet.”
On October 3, 2013 we performed four episodes of The Twilight Zone: “Time Enough at Last”, “The Invaders”, “Five Characters”, and the episode you see here, “Where Is Everybody?”.
This was an improvised show with Ben Singer on keyboards and Nic Stott on drums.
Astute listeners will notice that our show begins with the notes of Twilight Zone’s famous theme and these notes come back throughout the show. Astute fans may note that this theme was only introduced with the second season of The Twilight Zone, and this particular episode was from the show’s first season, and in fact, the very first episode of the first season.
Parts of the episode’s sounds and music are mixed back in to our show, particularly the dramatic reveal that ends the show.
